5, 4, 3, 2, 1, …ACTION!
Have you heard of – MVP? It stands for Most Viable Product. We’re going to put a twist on the standard definition which relates to having just enough product features to make it a viable product for testing. Our definition is – Just get off your butt and do it!
Sometimes we get stuck because what we are building or doing is not perfect so we think we can’t take action on getting it out there until everything is in place. Guess what happens next? NOTHING!
This is procrastination at it’s worst. Watch out for key self-talk – I’ll do it tomorrow, I’ll fix it tomorrow, I’ll do it later, It’s not good enough. I’m getting drained just writing the words!!
STOP! Just do it!
5,4,3,2,1…ACTION! Mel Robbins has a great book called The 5 Second Rule. Check it out. You will find yourself using the 5 second rule in all you do!
Every time you get stopped – do a countdown of 5,4,3,2,1…ACTION!
Take what you have now and get it out there – no more waiting.
Let me give you an example of a client I am consulting. She is taking a current concept to a new exciting level and looking to franchise. She had at least 11 people look at what was already built and each one of them told her why she could not franchise the concept. Each person had more and more suggestions for improvement until the franchise process came to a halt.

I helped her to realize what she has built is already successful and will ALWAYS be evolving. Keeping the concept agile is the critical ingredient in this process! Responding quickly to market changes or customer demands leads to innovation and adaptability. It takes the pressure off making sure everything is perfect before you move forward.
Most Viable Product
MVP doesn’t mean you are putting out less than a high-quality product. Quality is always critical in each piece of work you do. But perfection to the point of distraction from the end goal will keep you from completing your end goal.
It’s time for your MVP to be released for the rest of the world to enjoy.
